Brockman where, for the burnt bomb truck image? And what is the "float" in the caption about? Would be a nice addition to this very short story of what location this image was taken at. There is no identifying country, state, province, parish, county, region or even a geographic location, assuming Brockman is town of some sort. Ya think?
"Brockman" is probably the Brockman Mine in Australia. "float" refers to the trailer that the burned truck is sitting on, called a lowboy or low loader in other parts of the world. Just a guess, but maybe "bomb truck" is slang for a truck which carries blasting explosives (ammonium nitrate and fuel oil) for surface blasting.

Well this is the story......
"Brockman" is a name of one of the mines owned by the mining Giant Rio Tinto. The Truck also known as an Explosives mixing vehicle (EMV) had to be sent to Perth Australia for repairs rather than do the major work at the workshop at the Brockman 4 mine site. About 3 months later the EMV is ready in Perth to head back to the minesite some 1200Km North of Perth. The Truck driver who floated (Road train with a larger trailer) the EMV was only 30km from site & noticed flames coming from the float trailer. He pulled up to inspect & realised there was nothing he could do. He un hitched the burning trailer from his prime mover & drove to a safe distance. Positive - no one was hurt. Negative - With the mining boom in Australia theres a 12 month waiting list for a new EMV.
Rio run their own trucks, it's similar to an Orica truck, but it's not one of Orica's MMUs.
