In this week's series of photos, it looks like an RD has driven of a ramp onto the pit floor below. This is the worst kind of accident; the completely avoidable accident.
I received pics of the accident a few years ago from a coworker. From what I understand this is in a mine in South America. In the country where this happened, berms were not required along haul roads.
Please remember that berms do help, but if a haul truck is going full speed a berm may not stop it.

I'm assuming this wasn't at an Australian mine as there are no berms at the ramp edge?
My comments exactly..... where are the berms at? I hope the management at that mine gives their head a shake......
What's a berm? LOL. This looks like it occurred in Africa, where they don't believe in any kind of safety.

Now if u zoom in on this pic u will see guard rails along the ramp.
oh ok there’s guard rails well that’s ok then because they can stop a haul truck 🤓🤓
